It has been said that a dog is a man’s best friend. This may be true because of a dog’s devotion and companionship. We are privileged to be able to share with you a part of life that is close to our hearts because we love our dogs.

It is a much greater privilege to share with you one who is closer than a brother – His name is Jesus. He not only provides companionship but a love that is second to none. Many have an idea that God is some way off being just waiting to punish us when we do wrong. It is true that we will appear before Him and give an account of our lives, but He loves us unconditionally.

Jesus provides forgiveness of sin. He paid the penalty by taking our sin upon Himself and offers that forgiveness to us (1 John 1:9). When we ask Him to forgive us, He will. Scripture says in Romans 10:13 that everyone who calls upon the Lord will be saved. All it takes is a sincere prayer asking for forgiveness and asking Him to save us.

That’s the beginning of a life of commitment to Him. Serving Him is not a bothersome task or set of rules – it’s a beautiful relationship that will never end. He made us with a soul that will last for eternity and He wants us to be with Him. Eternal life is not just some concept that will come later, it can begin now just by asking Him. If you have not already made this decision, please give it serious consideration.

The Christian life is not free from troubles, but Jesus makes us a promise that He will never leave us. We always have a very present help in times of trouble. We praise Him for all He has done!

In John 10:1-5 Jesus compared Himself to a shepherd of sheep. In this analogy believers are similar to sheep that need a shepherd to lead and protect them. Like sheep, believers are to recognize the voice of their true Shepherd. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27). Just as a shepherd protects his sheep Jesus protects His people (believers) from eternal harm. While believers can expect to suffer on earth, Satan cannot harm their souls or take away their eternal life with God. If you choose to follow Jesus He will give you everlasting safety. (John 10:28, 29).
